Author Advice
A general build with Ezmo. Since the match-up for the most part dictates some of the rites, I usually use this as a template, and swap out as needed.
Against heavy ranged, swap Chaos Barrage for Bolted/Collapse depending on preference. Stay ranged, but don't be afraid to jump in, DPS and jump out again if the enemy overcommits or makes a mistake. Ezmo is OK-ish at range, but main attack, mouse1 has a pretty short range.
Against heavy melee, swap Undermind and or Face Melt for Imp Rush and or Whizz. Stay at range, remember that you move slower when attacking. Use E to shackle them, if you can finish the cast when staying at range.
If you struggle to stay alive, Feedback and Tome of Restoration are decent choices for survival. Face Melt and Undermine can be replaced for those. Be mindful of using Space to both DPS and escape. Ex1 can be really useful for getting health back up, and can be used against mid-orb.
Above all, Q is incredibly strong. You can absorb any projectile and melee swing, including a lot of semi-AOE's like Rook's right-click. It also grants weapon charges, so try to absorb damage with it up. If you have a timed attack, like Croak's ult, Jamila's counter or Oldurs' time bomb, use Ex2 to absorb the majority of that damage.
